Allegoria Sacra: From a theater of colors to a theater of sounds…

This concert, entitled Allegoria Sacra, featured chamber instrumental and stage works by Elmir Mirzayev in various genres, representing the composer’s 20-year-long creative career. The composer’s works at the concert were performed by soloists of Cadenza Contemporary Orchestra conducted by Orkhan Gashimov and guitarist Rovshan Mamedguliyev. The performance of “Rəmzi üçkünc sükut” (“Symbolic Triangular Silence”) and “Nəhayət ki, gəldiniz” (“Finally, You Have Come”) from the repertoire of the legendary SoNoR ensemble in addition to “Allegoria Sacra” and “Todesfuge” written in the 2000s put the audience in a truly nostalgic mood. It should be noted that Elmir Mirzayev is not only a well-known contemporary Azerbaijani composer, musicologist, culturologist and essayist, but was also one of the founders and artistic director of the SoNoR contemporary music ensemble (1995/2005).
