The memorial ceremony was organized at the newly inaugurated Azerbaijan House in Krakow.

The event saw the participation of Nargiz Gurbanova, the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Poland, Fuad Muradov, the Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora, alongside members of the Azerbaijani diaspora, the local public, and representatives from various communities active within Poland.

The ceremony began with a moment of silence, paying tribute to those who perished in Khojaly. This was followed by an introduction to a photographic exhibition that depicted the horrific massacre, where carnations were placed on the portraits of the genocide victims and candles were lit beside them.

The attendees were thoroughly briefed on the tragedy, highlighting that the Khojaly genocide, which saw the brutal murder of 613 civilians from Khojaly—including 63 children, 106 women, and 70 elderly individuals in a single night, alongside the massacre of eight families—is a part of the ethnic cleansing campaign waged by Armenia against the Azerbaijani people.

It was also noted that 28 Azerbaijani Houses are operational across 16 countries, engaging in various activities aimed at promoting Azerbaijani culture and disseminating information about the nation to the global community.
