Armenia expressed a desire to join the European Union

In response to journalists’ questions about whether Armenia is ready to deepen relations with the European Union and possibly aim for candidate status, the politician replied that this possibility is worth considering.

“We are ready to move and will move in the direction that provides us with the greatest security. And now, being a democratic country is an important component of our security,” Simonyan said.

He also assured that potential membership of Armenia in NATO is not being discussed.
