Szijjártó: Hungary plans to buy more gas from Azerbaijan

The minister noted that Hungary and Azerbaijan have been strategic partners for 14 years, and the relations between the two countries are at a high level:

“Those who once criticized us for our relations with Azerbaijan are now lining up to take a photo with the President of Azerbaijan.”

Minister Szijjártó highlighted that last year, trade between Azerbaijan and Hungary reached a high level, exceeding $120 million: “Our cooperation in the energy sector contributes to Hungary’s security. Given the current situation, our cooperation in the energy sector is very important.”

The minister recalled that last year Azerbaijani gas reached Hungary and added that Hungary plans to purchase more gas from Azerbaijan, with both sides interested in this.
