Meeting of Azerbaijani and Iranian leaders at the state border opens a new chapter in bilateral relations

During this meeting, organized by the Azerbaijani leader’s press service, the presidents participated in the inauguration ceremony of the “Khudaferin” hydroelectric complex and the opening of the “Qiz Qalasi” hydroelectric complex, both built on the Araz River.

This event marks a new chapter in the relations between the two countries. Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Seyed Abbas Mousavi commented on social media platform X, stating, “I am proud that on the last day of my diplomatic mission, the hydroelectric complexes ‘Khudaferin’ and ‘Qiz Qalasi’ were inaugurated with the participation of the presidents of Iran and Azerbaijan as a successful example of water diplomacy.”

The meeting of the leaders and the opening of the new hydroelectric complexes demonstrate the strengthening of bilateral ties and cooperation in water resource management, contributing to the development of friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Iran.
