Aliyev Informs Scholz of Territorial Claims in Armenia’s Constitution

According to the Azerbaijani President’s press service, Aliyev informed Scholz that Azerbaijan has been the initiator of the peace treaty with Armenia and the guiding principles underlying it. He pointed out that Armenia’s territorial claims against Azerbaijan still remain in its Constitution.

Aliyev noted that Armenia’s significant delay in submitting its proposals on the document has negatively impacted the process. Nevertheless, the two sides are close to reaching a final agreement on the treaty’s text, with negotiations set to resume after the COP29 conference.
