Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico published a video from aboard a government aircraft, in which he summarized his trips to Moscow, Yerevan and Bavaria earlier this month. In the video, he also touched upon Azerbaijan, in particular President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
Speaking about the Azerbaijani president’s position toward the European Parliament, Fico said the following:
“By the way, in Yerevan I witnessed an example of sovereign foreign policy — this time on the part of Azerbaijan, whose president sharply criticized the European Parliament for various declarations and resolutions adopted against the country.
President Aliyev told the truth when he said that the European Parliament should first deal with European problems — and we have more than enough of them — instead of spreading lies and interfering in the affairs of others.
I am sending the same message from Slovakia to the European Parliament, especially in connection with its latest ‘masterpiece’, when it recommended that the European Commission suspend the allocation of European funds to us.”
