Film featuring Azerbaijani actor Eldar Isgandarov becomes one of the breakouts of the Cannes Film Festival

Azerbaijani actor and model Eldar Isgandarov is achieving notable international success: Club Kid, the film in which he plays one of the roles, has become one of the most talked-about projects at the Cannes Film Festival and has attracted the attention of major players in the global film industry.

The film, written and directed by Jordan Firstman, who also stars in it, was presented in the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival. Following its premiere, the film received an enthusiastic response from both audiences and critics, as well as a seven-minute standing ovation. According to Deadline, Club Kid sparked a fierce bidding war among studios, with A24 ultimately acquiring the global rights to the film. The deal, reportedly, reached an eight-figure sum and closed in the “high teens.”

Eldar Isgandarov has become the first Azerbaijani to appear in the competitive program of the Cannes Film Festival, which is an important achievement in itself. Club Kid tells the story of a washed-up party promoter whose life changes dramatically when he suddenly finds himself responsible for his 10-year-old son. The film also stars Cara Delevingne, Diego Calva, Reggie Absolom and others. It was produced by Academy Award winner Alex Coco, along with Galen Core, Topic Studios and Stay Gold.
