Phone call between Aliyev and Pezeshkian: Azerbaijan always stands with Iran

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev held a phone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian on May 26, according to the website of the Azerbaijani head of state.

Aliyev and Pezeshkian congratulated each other on the holy holiday of Eid al-Adha and wished prosperity and well-being to the peoples of Azerbaijan and Iran.

The Iranian side once again thanked Azerbaijan for the humanitarian assistance provided during difficult days for the Islamic Republic.

Aliyev, for his part, noted that Azerbaijan and Iran always stand by each other — both in good times and in difficult times.

During the conversation, the sides also exchanged views on the development and prospects of bilateral relations.
