Azerbaijan played an important role in supporting the resilience of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, Ukrainian Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal said at the Baku Energy Forum.
He noted that during the war, almost all of Ukraine’s major energy facilities had come under missile and drone attacks. Despite this, the country’s power system continued to operate thanks to the efforts of Ukraine’s military, energy workers and international partners.
According to Shmyhal, Azerbaijan made a particularly important contribution to Ukraine’s energy resilience last winter by providing generators, transformers, cable products and other critically needed equipment. This assistance helped Ukraine get through the winter and is now supporting preparations for the next heating season.
Since the start of the full-scale war, Azerbaijan has delivered a total of 11 energy aid packages to Ukraine.
