It is no coincidence that Western politicians and media today are putting pressure on Azerbaijan, calling it to secure LGBT rights. However, a comparison of the LGBT-related facts, based on the 2019 report drafted by ILGA itself, shows that there is no significant difference in terms of LGBT rights in Azerbaijan and many other European countries.

Landmines (both antipersonnel and anti-tank mines) can be considered one of the most effective weapons. It is a known fact that mines lodged in the ground remained active even 50 years after the end of World War II and exploded when accidentally stepped on years later, causing casualties. According to UNICEF, landmines have exploded under more than 1 million people since 1975 and are currently thought to be killing 800 people a month.

When we say "identity", we mean the answers individuals and society as a whole give to the question "Who are you?" and "What are your origins?". Every person is an individual belonging to some family, community, organization, nation and state, regardless of whether that person's sense of belonging is weak or strong. A nation is a union formed by people who speak the same language, have a common past, believe in the same creation myth, and call a certain piece of land their homeland.

In this article, I will analyze how the right to abortion is implemented practically and legally, comparing the situation in Azerbaijan and in other countries of the world. I would like to emphasize the importance of finding the "golden mean" in this matter, given that either extreme—tight restrictions on abortion and the absolute reign of liberal freedoms—creates a set of problems of its own.

The national awakening among the Jews and the emergence of the Zionist movement date back to the 19th century. The essence of the Zionist movement is the return to Jerusalem, the historical land of Israel, which the Jewish diaspora around the world calls "aliyah." Thus, the immigration of Diaspora Jews to Palestine began in the 19th century, or more precisely in 1882.

However, the Armenian citizens and the Armenian diaspora living abroad, who ignore all this, lost in the euphoria of their fabricated "ancient history", were seriously mobilized to get their claims and lies across to the world. Their claims are even so persistent that the French, the strongest political and moral supporters of the Armenians, are not afraid to publicize this "Greater Armenia" map at major events.

Although the collapse of the USSR ended the Cold War, the rivalry between the Western world and Russia, which occasionally reached the point of hostility, is still ongoing. In different regions of the world, these global powers compete with each other for influence. If in 2010-2020, the rivalry in the Middle East was associated with wars, after 2020 the main arena of this rivalry moved to the Central Asian region.

Both Turkey and Russia are major regional powers with a long history, in particular, an imperial past. The lands of the (geographically) small Azerbaijan between them were historically part of one empire or another, and only in 1918 did they gain a chance to become independent for the first time.

Legal norms are not static, they are constantly changing and evolving. This applies not only to domestic laws and resolutions, but also to the documents of international law. Thus, even the UN Charter, which is considered one of the essential documents of international law, has been interpreted and applied in different ways throughout its history. The interests and intentions of the great powers in particular have played an important role in this.

The development of modern technologies not only adds new types of job to the world of work, but also causes certain jobs to become obsolete and archaic. For example, you may remember that until recently, there were people whose job was to knock on our doors and collect water and electricity bill payments.

The “Declaration of Independence” of May 28, 1918, which proclaimed the establishment of an independent state in Azerbaijan, stated that Azerbaijan was the first democratic, parliamentary republic in the Turkic and Muslim world, and in the entire East in general. 97,300 km2 of the territory of Azerbaijan were undisputed, and 16,600 km2 were disputed with Armenia and Georgia (Mahmudov, 2004, p. 12).
