Aliyev meets Sichuan Sunsync chairman on solar plant project

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev held a meeting on the sidelines of the SCO with Xie Yi, founder and chairman of Sichuan Sunsync Photovoltaic Technology Co.

During the talks, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and the company, paying special attention to a project to establish a modern solar panel manufacturing plant in the Alat Free Economic Zone. It was noted that the future plant would meet the most advanced technological standards, with a significant share of its output intended for export to global markets.

Xie Yi emphasized that the decision to invest in Azerbaijan was driven by the country’s favorable investment climate, as well as the level of strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and China.
