At a conference in Corsica, the people of the French colonies appreciated Azerbaijan’s support

At the conference organized by the “Nazione” movement, representatives of independence movements reported on the problems faced by French colonies, APA reports.

During the discussions, it was particularly emphasized that the decolonization process, starting from Azerbaijan’s chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement, has been the focus of global public attention and international organizations. Participants highly appreciated the support provided by Azerbaijan, including the Baku Initiative Group, on the issue of decolonization and noted with satisfaction that international conferences dedicated to decolonization have been organized in various countries around the world.

Participants highlighted the importance of uniting efforts, promoting joint initiatives, including more serious raising of the issue of colonialism before international organizations. It was reiterated that France violates human rights and freedoms in its occupied territories, does not respect the fundamental rights of people, and this illegal activity is condemned.

The participants called on the French government to comply with international obligations.
