Azerbaijan buys 96 SAM120 mortar systems from Slovakia

Azerbaijan has purchased 96 SAM120 self-propelled automatic mortar systems of 122 mm caliber from Slovakia.

The contract is part of a previously signed framework agreement covering the potential delivery of up to 300 SAM120 mortar systems to Azerbaijan, with an estimated total value of up to €650 million.

The SAM120’s loading mechanism allows a firing rate of up to 20 rounds per minute, with a maximum range of 8.6 km.
