Azerbaijan’s parliamentary speaker Sahiba Gafarova attends 149th Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly in Geneva

Upon her arrival at the Geneva International Airport, she was welcomed by Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Switzerland, Fuad Isgandarov, and Permanent Representative to the UN Geneva Office, Galib Israfilov, among other officials.

During her visit, Gafarova will actively participate in the 149th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). She is scheduled to hold meetings with heads of delegations from member states and high-ranking officials to discuss key issues on the international parliamentary agenda. Additionally, Gafarova will deliver a speech at the Assembly, contributing to discussions on the global parliamentary stage.

This visit underscores Azerbaijan’s active engagement in multilateral parliamentary diplomacy and its commitment to international cooperation through platforms such as the IPU.
