This was stated by Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, during a panel discussion on “Peace, Development, and Connectivity in the South Caucasus” as part of the Third Diplomatic Forum in Antalya.

“From the Armenian side, a genuine commitment to advancing the interim agenda is necessary. At the same time, we must remain vigilant regarding potential new developments. Unfortunately, a contradictory trend has emerged related to the spread of geopolitical influence, leading to the emergence of new lines of division. It is extremely important to take this development seriously. At the same time, a border must be demarcated between Azerbaijan and Armenia,” he said.

According to him, peace concerns Baku and Yerevan, and it is not related to Paris, Brussels, or other places. A peace treaty should be signed by the two countries.

Hajiyev also emphasized that a peace treaty should not be signed for the sake of signing; real intent is necessary for achieving peace.
