Military exercises of Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan begin in Kazakhstan

The website of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan says.

Military maneuvers will last until July 17. They will take place at Oymasha training ground and in the offshore area near Tokmak cape. They involve about 4,000 military personnel and up to 700 units of military equipment. The participants will conduct a joint operation on localizing an armed conflict.

«Tactical episodes will be carried out with the participation of ground and air reconnaissance groups, naval special forces, army and front-line aviation crews, warships and boats, artillery crews, assault and tank units,» the statement says.

Competitions in military applied sports, tactical orienteering, army tactical shooting and a number of cultural and leisure events are also planned within the exercises. Military contingents from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will take part in practicing combat training tasks.
